NHLA introduces a new hardwood species, Hawaiian Acacia Koa

The National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) has introduced the first national grading standard for Hawaiian Acacia koa, transforming it from a niche product into a standardized commercial hardwood. Developed with Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods (HLH LLC) and Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative, these standards promote market transparency and support ecological restoration efforts, ensuring sustainable sourcing.
